XXXIX Workshop on Geometric Methods in Physics 19.06–25.06.2022
XI School on Geometry and Physics 27.06–1.07.2022

Getting to Poland

Unfortunatelly there is no airport in Białystok, so the most convenient way to get there is via the Chopin Airport in Warsaw. There are also other airports in the area including Warsaw-Modlin, Olsztyn or Bydgoszcz.

There are night trains from several European capitals to Warsaw which may be a convenient way to travel from neighboring countries.

Getting from Warsaw to Białystok

There is a good train connection from Warsaw to Białystok. The trip from Warsaw Central train station takes around 2.5 hours. There are at least 4 trains to Białystok each day. Note that the train schedule is about to be changed in June and the exact hours of departure are at the moment unknown. Usually there are no trains departing late at night though. The current timetable can be seen here.

The best way to get to the Warsaw Central train station is to take a train at the airport to Warsaw Central (Warszawa Centralna) or Railway Station "Śródmieście". The trip takes around 30 minutes. You can also take a regular city bus (line 175) at the exit of the air terminal. One should get off at the bus stop in front of the Mariott Hotel, opposite to the Central Railway Station.

There is also a fair number of bus connections available, including a night bus leaving at 21:45. Please consult e.g. an on-line bus connection finder e-podroznik.pl.

Hotel in Warsaw

The organizers can book a hotel room in Warsaw, either before or after the Workshop. However there are many convenient hotels you can book on-line, see e.g. Gromada Hotel "Dom Chłopa".

Hotel in Białystok

Organizers can also book a hotel for you. The cost is €400 (single room with breakfast). There is a cost of €250 for each accompanying person. However you are free to book a hotel on your own. There is a lot of hotels to chose from in various price range. The one we are booking is Willa Pastel located near city centre. Other locations in the centre to consider are: Hotel Cristal, Hotel Branicki. If you prefer a hotel located closer to the University campus, you can try Hotel Pod Herbem or Centrum Titanic.

Check out the map below for the approximate locations of these and other hotels which you might want to consider.
