Periodic vs. chaotic orbits for iterated physical systems

Many interesting physical phenomena are described by iterated systems, especially by difference equations of the first and second order. In linear case the solution and its behavior is more predictable than in nonlinear case where the chaotic effects appear. In this talk we focus on homographic difference equations applied in physics and properties of their solutions. We show chaotic and periodic orbits of various order, fixed points and stability analysis of solutions in several cases, theoretically and numerically demonstrated.
