Scattering on a rectangular potential barrier in phase space quantum mechanics
We present a treatment of quantum scattering on a rectangular potential barrier within the phase-space formulation of quantum mechanics.We present a treatment of quantum scattering on a rectangular potential barrier within the phase-space formulation of quantum mechanics. The Wigner energy eigenfunction is constructed directly in phase space without recourse to the Hilbert-space wave function. The solution is built from a structured decomposition of the Wigner function, and it is shown that standard physical requirements are sufficient to uniquely determine all parameters up to the incident flux.
