FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT
The Workshop on Geometric Methods in Physics has become one of the most widely
recognized, regular activities in the field of mathematical physics and
applied mathematics. It has been organized every year since 1981 and has grown
from a local regional meeting to its present international form, attracting
leading physicists and mathematicians from all over the world.
The program consists of invited lectures, often of a review nature,
as well as specialized, contributed talks.
PLACE AND TIME
The 2003 Workshop will take place in its home venue, in the heart of
the Bia³owie¿a National Park - a site of great natural beauty.
Arrival date will be Saturday, June 28. The scientific activity will run
from Sunday, June 29 till Saturday, July 5 and will end with the Magic
Kupala Night (5/6 July).
There will be a special bus service from Warsaw to Bia³owie¿a, on
June 28 and back from Bia³owie¿a to Warsaw on July 6, for participants of the
conference.
TOPICS
The topics covered in these meetings usually span wide areas of mathematical physics and
pure mathematics, inspired by physical problems. The conference offers good
opportunities for exchange of ideas between physicists and mathematicians.
Specific topics for the XXII Workshop will include:
Quantum probability, Dynamical systems, Symplectic and Poisson geometry, Operator algebras and Quantization, Noncommutative geometry, Quantum groups, Itegrability.
PLENARY SPEAKERS (tentative)
V.P. Belavkin (Nottingham), A.V. Bolsinov (Moscow), C. Chryssomalakos (Mexico City),

ACCOMODATION AND CONFERENCE FEE
The conference fee is 400 EUR, which will cover full board and lodging, usually in shared
(double) rooms, transportation from Warsaw to Bia³owie¿a and back and a copy of the proceedings volume. There is a possibility of getting single
accommodation (at extra cost - not fixed at the moment) within walking
distance from the main lecture hall - the number of single rooms is limited,
however.
There is also the possibility of accommodating an accompanying person - the extra
cost involved would vary depending on the quality of accommodation desired and could be
settled upon arrival.
