A free bus trip will be organized to take participants, arriving in
Warsaw by late afternoon of Thursday, July 2, to the Workshop site
in Bialowieza. The buses will leave from the premises of the
Institute of Theoretical Physics, Warsaw University, No. 69 at Hoza str.
(about 300 metres from the Warsaw Central Railway Station --- see the map
enclosed below).
Departure for Bialowieza of the buses will be at 16:00, so please come
to the Institute before then. If a need arrises to accommodate
participants arriving later then that, we may eventually delay
somewhat the departure but in any case we shall leave not later then 18:00.
By far the best way to get to the Physics Institute from the airport
is to take a special AirportCity bus directly at the terminal ---
tickets cost
5.6 Zl (polish zloty), about U.S.$ 1.8 at the current rates, and
can be bought from the bus driver. Be sure you have a small change
with
you! Get off at the stop in front of the Marriott Hotel, oposite the
Central Railway Station. From there it is a short and easy walk to
the
Institute. Members of the local organizing committee would be
at hand there. We shall also arrange for a free bus trip back to
Warsaw at the
end of the Workshop. The exact time of the Departure will be
announced during the Workshop - we expect it to be not later then 7:00
on Friday, July 10, so that the expected arrival time to Warsaw will
be about 13:00.
If you are unable to avail yourself of the organized bus trip, you may
come to Bialowieza by a combination of train and bus, via
Bialystok. The departure and arrival times for trains from Warsaw
to Bialystok and buses from Bialystok to Bialowieza can be found
after June 5 at the Workshop home page:
http://wwwzft.uwb.edu.pl/if/WGMP-XVII.html
or at:
http://info.fuw.edu.pl./~alekstra/
However, we strongly recommand, especially to the participants from abroad, to use the provided bus transportation.
We would like to remind the participants, who are not exempted from
paying the registration fee, that the amount of U.S.$300 (or current
equivalent for polish participants) should be paid (in U.S. Dollars
or German Marks, to simplify local banking) upon arrival in Bialowieza,
following the announcement to that effect. Unfortunately, we cannot
accept personal cheques, bank drafts or travellers' cheques.
If you have any dietary restrictions, please notify us about that.
Please note that accomodation is usually shared. If there is another participant with whom you may wish to share a room, please let us know.
The conference mail address is the following:
Hotel IWA, Park Palacowy 11, 17-230 Bialowieza, Poland, fax: (+48-835) 12 260, tel: (+48-835) 12 385.All correspondence regarding the Workshop should be directed
(preferably by e-mail) to:
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Have a pleasant journey and see you there!
