On K3 surfaces and their applications in physics

K3 surfaces are the simplest non-trivial Calabi-Yau manifolds and thus provide a class of complex surfaces, where geometric methods in physics can be studied quite explicitly.
The talk gives an introduction to the geometry of K3 surfaces and their applications in conformal quantum field theory.
