Non existence of Haar-type invariant measures on some spaces of maps

We show the non existence of invariant (Haar-type) probability measures on some groups of maps. In particular the case of maps on the torus leads to some consequences in Hydrodynamics. This is based on work done in recent years with Paul Malliavin.
