Fields and Particles in de Sitter spacetime

We give tentative answers to the following question: what becomes of quantum fields and of their "particle content" in the Wigner sense, when the flat (Minkowski) spacetime is replaced by a typical curved spacetime with "pure cosmological constant", such as de Sitter spacetime ? Our quantization method relies on analyticity requirements and on a global Fourier-Helgason-type analysis on the de Sitter hyperboloid. As an outcome, one obtains:
  1. thermal interpretation of the "vacuum" and
  2. fundamental unstability of the Wignerian "one-particle states".
